In preparation for an upcoming speaking engagement at a Women’s Leadership Summit, I cleared my calendar to read through all the applications I have received from professional women for my Freedom from Chronic Stress Coaching Program.

In re-reading the applications, common themes of problems these women wanted solved were apparent…which one(s) resonate most with you?

#1 – TOO MUCH TENSION

The high-achieving woman experiences too much tension in her body, her mental state, and her emotions.

Too much tension, too much holding…not enough ease.

#2 –  IMPATIENCE

The high-achieving woman reports being impatient with others, especially with her significant other and children.

Impatient with those she loves the most, not to the boss.

#3 – REACTIVITY

The high-achieving woman who experiences chronic stress reports a higher level of reactivity than she desires.

This means having a shorter fuse than desired, a tendency to react quickly with snap judgments.

Not taking long enough pauses to respond to people and important decisions.

And reacting to unpleasant emotions with undesired food consumption, emotional withdrawal, or being ‘snippy.’

#4 – JUDGMENT

The high-achieving woman who experiences chronic stress reports too much judgment.

Self-judgment, self-pressure, unrealistic expectations (or so she’s been told ;)).

Judgment of others…why can’t you? why are you taking so long? that is ridiculous…he should…she should…I should…they should…a two year-old could do this…

You get the point.

#5 – DISCONTENT

The high-achieving woman who experiences chronic stress never feels content.

Why isn’t it ever enough?

#6 – DYSREGULATED ENERGY

The jury is out if ‘dysregulated’ is a word, but there is no other way to describe it.

The high-achieving woman who experiences chronic stress has poorly regulated energy.

Burning off too much energy in a short period of time, running off fumes instead of healthy energy reserves, not knowing how or when to refill her well without causing harm to herself.

Personally, this was probably my biggest problem as I spun into the vortex of burnout (second to anxiety, tension, judgment, and not being content). 🙂

#7 – WORRY + ANXIETY

Worry and anxiety are different but I lumped them together for the sake of this exercise.

The high-achieving women who experiences chronic stress reports increased levels of anxiety.

Some have underlying anxiety (like me) an outsider would never know about.

Some have sleep disturbances, a mind that races, worry, and a body that won’t fully relax even when she wants to.

Which of these resonate most with you?

Does it sound like a tall order to resolve these problems?

But if these underlying problems were to be resolved, what is possible for you?

How would you feel inside?

How would your relationships and career improve?

If you are a high-achieving woman and relate to 3 or more of these 7 problems, I invite you to sign up for my free video series below – How To Stop Overscheduling: Less Rushed. More Effective.
