Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention on purpose without judgment and with compassion.
Mindfulness gives you access to choice.
If you find yourself wanting to be more present for your life, try these 3 ‘no time’ ways to explore mindfulness:
- Am I Alive? When you are in the car, make a practice to stop and pay attention at every stoplight and stop sign. Pause and notice if you are breathing. If you are breathing, hoorays! You are alive! If you are not breathing, hoorays! You are alive too! The mindful practice is that you paused to pay attention. Now choose the next breath on purpose and with kindness.
- Gaze at a Tree. You can do this inside or outside. It’s a wonderful activity to do by yourself or with a child. Point out and notice 3 aspects of the tree you have never noticed before.
- Listen to the Birds. When you step outside the house, the grocery store, or your workplace, open your ears. Anytime you step outside, pay attention to the sounds of nature. It is always waiting for you.
Allowing more space,
Angela
