the beauty of the world
offers itself
as I make space for it
lay down your false giving
walk away from the one who hurts you
choose what you must to live
but don’t offer it your nectar
use that instead to nourish your cells
bathe in oil
and cleanse your eyes
even just one drop
may preserve the heart space
that longs for
and knows how
to rest
